How I Can Help
I pride myself on developing trustworthy and sustainable relationships with my patients to provide them with the best-integrated healthcare available while practicing in the context of partnership, family, and community. In removing barriers such as high cost of care, inadequate or no insurance coverage, and the lack of equitable competent care. These barriers can lead to unmet health care needs and the inability to getting preventative services. Access to equitable healthcare should not be dependent on race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, sex, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or residential location. Knowledge is Health Clinic is committed to breaking down these barriers and meeting its community’s health needs via education and collaboration with other community organizations.

My Story
How I Began and Where I’m Headed
I am a Hispanic male born in Puerto Rico and raised in North Philadelphia who is bilingual in Spanish and English. Having lived the health disparity within the minority community is one of the reasons I became a Family Nurse Practitioner. I have received my certification from the ANCC. I have attended undergrad at Thomas Jefferson University, Master at La Salle University, and my Doctorate of Nursing Practice at Walden University. I have done several medical mission trips internationally. My last trip was a humbling opportunity where I was able to give back to my island (Puerto Rico) following the devastation that the hurricane Maria had left behind. In looking for a way to give back to my community I established Knowledge Is Health Inc. In Collaboration with the Philadelphia Aids Consortium (TPAC), I have been able to give back to the community by linking patients who are lost to medical care primarily homeless, undocumented, uninsured patients. This initiative also allows me to make HIV treatment, PrEp, PEP, feminizing, and masculinizing hormone therapy more accessible. My primary focus is underserved populations such as the Latinos, Afro-American, and the LGBTQ community. I believe in order to achieve a solution to a community problem, one needs to understand the culture of the environment and meet its population where they are.
All the proceeds that are collected for the Consultation go back to the community by paying for those who can not afford the consultation, labs, or some medications. So in other words you would be given back to the community as well.
